With a background in Health and Social Care and many years as a Samaritan volunteer, I bring a calm, grounded presence to every family and couple I work with.
I listen deeply, hold space during emotional moments and meet people exactly where they are, whether that means celebrating love, welcoming new life, or saying a heartfelt goodbye.
Your story comes first, always

Whether you’re celebrating a beginning, marking a milestone or saying a heartfelt goodbye, I’d be honoured to help you honour it.
About Maxine
I’ve spent a long time sitting with people during some of the most important moments of their lives. That’s still what I do, only now I help them find the words.
Before I became a celebrant, I spent many years working in Health and Social Care, supporting people through some of the most difficult and tender moments life brings. Alongside that, I volunteered for the Samaritans for a long time, sitting with people who needed someone to really listen, without judgement and without rushing.
Those years taught me something that still shapes every ceremony I write: that being truly heard is one of the most powerful things one person can offer another.
When I found celebrancy, it felt like everything came together. I could take all of that care and steadiness and add the thing I’ve always loved doing privately: writing. Now I get to help people find the words for the moments that matter most.
Every ceremony I write begins the same way, by listening to you. To your stories, your memories, the small details that made someone who they were, or the reasons you fell in love. From there, I write something that is completely your own.
“I believe every story deserves to be told with heart, not rushed, not generic, but thoughtful, meaningful and truly yours.”

There’s no formula. No checklist you have to work through. When we first speak, it’s just a conversation. You share what you’d like me to know, and I listen.
From there, I’ll take care of everything: the writing, the structure, the tone. You’ll see every word before the day, and you can change anything that doesn’t feel right. It’s your ceremony and I’m there to help you shape it.
I’m based in Grimsby, and most of my work is here in North East Lincolnshire, though I’ll travel wherever the ceremony takes me.
Away from celebrancy, I find myself noticing the same things I look for in a good ceremony: small moments of genuine connection, stories told with warmth, and the quiet comfort of feeling understood. That’s what I bring to every family, every couple, every ceremony I’m trusted to be part of.
